Did you know there are more men called Peter than there are women leading FTSE 250 companies?! (Six versus five, if you were wondering…)

What about that only 54 of the firms listed have a non-white board-level director?

Not to mention the fact it’s impossible to get a clear idea on the statistics for other areas of diversity, including disability, age and sexual orientation.

In fact, the FRC’s latest annual update on the UK Corporate Governance Code showed “only one or two FTSE 100 companies reported their approach to LGBT+, age and disability diversity”. And separate research from INvolve found that 33% of the top 100 firms fail to specifically mention LGBT+ topics in their annual reports.

It’s time we all did more to take action to make a change. And, fortunately, so we can do exactly that – LinkedIn Learning has made their D&I suite of courses available for free, for the rest of the year. This material is perfect for individuals to challenge their thinking on diversity, to roll out to your team or to utilise as a companywide initiative on D&I.
